Stitch Alphabet Letter N, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a cheerful patched teddy bear peeks round a big pale-blue letter 'N', set against a soft pink circle.

A little stitcher's folklore: a child's initial stitched by hand was once hung above the cradle to wish them a long, happy life.

Why this kit: a sweet personalised gift for a child whose name begins with N — quick to stitch with 17 colours.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 17 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the teddy's face and paws, then the blue letter, and finish with the background circle using the chart.

Finished size: 11.5×13 cm (4.5×5.1 in). A personalised nursery picture and a thoughtful gift for a new baby or christening.
