Worked with over 6,100 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 25 colours, plus microbeads for fine detail.

A little stitcher's folklore: in the Americas the hummingbird is a messenger of joy and good luck, and a hummingbird visiting you is said to mean a loved one is thinking of you. Stitchers say a hummingbird on the wall keeps joy flying into the house.

Why this kit: if you love vivid, jewel-toned birds, this hummingbird shimmers beautifully in beads. It's a rewarding project for confident beginners and experienced beaders. A lovely gift for bird lovers and gardeners.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, over 6,100 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 25 colours, Preciosa No. 13 microbeads and a microbead needle, a Japanese beading needle, a numbered key chart, and instructions in 8 languages. Beading thread, frame and hoop are not included.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the hummingbird first, then the flowers around it.
