Bead a statement cuff with Arabesque, a bead embroidery bracelet kit by Abris Art — a row of ornate lace-like medallions in white, silver and teal, set with sparkling crystals and edged in scallops of beads. Worked in 11 colours of Preciosa Ornela Czech seed beads, it looks like heirloom jewellery.

A little stitcher's folklore: arabesque patterns — endless, interlacing curves — were designed to have no beginning and no end, a picture of infinity. Circles and medallions have long been worn as protective charms around the wrist. Stitchers say a bracelet you bead yourself keeps its maker's good wishes close to the pulse.

Kit includes: art canvas with the full-colour design printed on it, about 1,547 Preciosa Czech glass beads in 11 colours, Preciosa No. 13 microbeads in 3 colours, beading needles and a microbead needle, beading thread, decorative glass stones and accents (drops, bugle beads, pearls and half-round stones), bracelet findings (2 end clamps, a hook, 2 rings and an extension chain), and step-by-step illustrated instructions for the embroidery and finishing.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Then add the glass stones, cut the band out along the outline and attach the clamps, hook and chain from the kit to finish the cuff, following the illustrated instructions.

Finished size: 15×6 cm (5.91×2.36 in). An elegant handmade accessory and a thoughtful gift for jewellery lovers.
