Bead Flower of the Night, a mid-sized bead embroidery kit by Abris Art — a large peony in dusky pink, copper and smoky lilac unfolds on burgundy stems with two tight buds and dark leaves, against a deep graphite background. Worked with over 2,340 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 15 colours.

A little stitcher's folklore: in China the peony is the "king of flowers", a charm for wealth, honour and a happy marriage. Stitchers say a peony that blooms at night keeps love and good fortune alive even in quiet, dark times.

Kit includes: natural art canvas pre-printed with the design, over 2,340 Preciosa Ornela Czech glass beads in 15 colours, Japanese beading needles, beading thread, and instructions with a printed colour key. Frame not included.

Each bead is sewn onto its colour-marked spot on the printed canvas. Bead the peony petals first, then the buds, stems and leaves.
