Stitch Aroma of Summer, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a trailing wild strawberry runner with tiny red berries, white flowers and fresh leaves curls down the white Aida, while a pale moth rests beside it.

A little stitcher's folklore: wild strawberries were thought to be a fairy food, and anyone who found the first ripe one in June could expect a sweet summer.

Why this kit: a delicate, quick project with only 25 colours and lots of open space — lovely for a kitchen, a card or a small gift.

Kit includes: 18-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 25 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch the red berries and white flowers first, then the leaves, and finish with the moth and the thin runners using the symbol chart.

Finished size: 18×27 cm (7.1×10.6 in). A small summer picture to frame and a sweet gift for garden lovers.
