Shape Dulcinea with this Charivna Mit needle felting kit — a green felted turtle with a richly beaded shell, its domed back studded with gold, red, and cream beads in a mosaic-like pattern and a beaded medallion on its tail.
Why this kit: the felt pieces create a soft dimensional finish; the templates and stitch guide make the project approachable; the finished ornament or hoop art is easy to display or give as a handmade gift.
Kit includes: color pattern, instruction chart, Corriedale wool in 6 colors, 2 felting needles, beads for the eyes, and Preciosa beads in 5 colors. Made in Ukraine.
Needle felting is worked by layering small tufts of wool and repeatedly poking them with a barbed felting needle, which tangles the fibers together and gradually compacts and shapes them into a firm 3D form. Work section by section — the body, legs, and domed shell — following the included instructions, adding the beaded mosaic pattern and eyes once the base shape is felted.
Finished size: 12x6 cm (4.72x2.36 in). A detailed, rewarding project and a distinctive handmade gift or collectible for a turtle or beadwork enthusiast.
