Candy Cane Soldier Christmas Wooden Nutcracker 12 in by Wizardi F07M14-31-N01702C

Add a peppermint twist to the holidays with the Candy Cane Soldier, a wooden nutcracker by Wizardi — a cheerful soldier in a tiered red-and-white polka-dot hat topped with a red pompom, a green jacket over a white chest trimmed in gold, a curled moustache and a fluffy white beard. He leans on a red-and-white candy cane, with red-and-green striped legs and peppermint-swirl boots on a green-and-white base.

A little collector's folklore: candy canes were first handed out to keep children quiet during long Christmas services, so the story goes, and their crook was shaped like a shepherd's staff. Collectors say this soldier carries his candy cane for the same reason — to keep the house peaceful until the presents are opened.

Why this nutcracker: if you love a playful, sweet-shop Christmas, his polka-dot hat and candy cane staff bring instant fun to classic red and green decor. He looks right at home on a kitchen shelf or dessert table, and at about 12 inches he fits a windowsill or bookcase without taking over.

In the box: one Candy Cane Soldier nutcracker in painted wood with a white faux-fur beard, packed in a red gift box with a window. A decorative nutcracker, not intended for cracking nuts. Ready to display, no assembly needed.

Pair him with the Peppermint Candy King (F07M14-31-N01702D) and the rest of the candy cane series (F07M14-31-N01702A and B), or stand him among candy canes, gingerbread and peppermint baubles. Dust with a soft, dry brush and keep away from moisture and heat. A decoration, not a toy.

Size: 30 cm tall (11.8 in). Candy cane Christmas kitchen and shelf decor, and a fun gift for nutcracker collectors, bakers and anyone who loves a sweet Christmas.
