Jester Christmas Wooden Nutcracker 15 in by Wizardi F07M14-37-N01833B

Bring a touch of the circus to Christmas with the Jester, a wooden nutcracker by Wizardi — a merry court jester in a red-and-white checkered and striped cap with pompom tips over a gold crown, a long copper beard and moustache, and a red coat with gold-fringed epaulettes. Black-and-white harlequin shorts, red trousers and black boots stand on a round white base ringed with black diamonds.

A little collector's folklore: in medieval courts, the jester was the only one allowed to make the king laugh at himself, and at Christmas he was crowned Lord of Misrule for the twelve days of feasting. Collectors say a jester on the shelf keeps the holidays from getting too serious.

Why this nutcracker: if your Christmas has a playful, whimsical or vintage circus feel, he is a joyful change from the usual soldiers. The checkered cap and harlequin pattern look striking with black-and-white or red decor, and at 15 inches he makes a real statement on a mantel or console.

In the box: one Jester nutcracker in painted wood with a faux-fur beard, packed in a red gift box with a window. A decorative nutcracker, not intended for cracking nuts. Ready to display, no assembly needed.

Pair him with his companion in the series (F07M14-37-N01833A), or style him with red and white striped ornaments, carousel horses and candy for a circus Christmas. Dust with a soft, dry brush and keep away from moisture and heat. A decoration, not a toy.

Size: 38 cm tall (15 in). Whimsical Christmas mantel and shelf decor, and a fun gift for nutcracker collectors and anyone who loves a playful Christmas.
