Stitch Color Magic, a counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a rainbow-winged dragonfly and a pink butterfly flutter around a soft circle holding both the sun and a crescent moon, framed by birch twigs, dandelions, little bees and a pink water lily. Worked on white 14-count cotton Aida in 38 colours of embroidery floss, in a light watercolour style.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Japan the dragonfly is a symbol of courage and new beginnings, and the sun and moon together stand for balance — day and night, work and rest. Blow a dandelion and your wish flies. Stitchers say this little circle holds a whole year's worth of good wishes.

Why this kit: if you love gentle, nature-inspired designs, this one is pure calm to stitch, with lots of soft colour and little details. It's a comfortable project for confident beginners. A lovely gift for someone starting a new chapter.

Kit includes: white 14-count cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 38 colours of cotton floss on an organizer card, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the sun, moon and dragonfly, then the flowers and circle border.

Finished size: 25×23 cm (9.84×9.06 in). Peaceful wall art for a bedroom or reading nook.

Absolutely beautiful kit! And I love that the warehouse is located in Minneapolis, so no international charges mucking up the purchase transactions. I shall be visiting them again and looking for more counted cross-stitch!
