In the box: five bookmark panels pre-printed on 14 count Aida, cotton embroidery floss in every colour, a pattern chart, 6 needles, a needle threader, a small pair of scissors and self-adhesive felt to back the finished bookmarks. Not included: a hoop, which is optional for such a narrow piece.

How to stitch: thread a needle with two strands of floss and work the full cross stitches over the printed colours, checking the chart as you go; the print shows you where every stitch belongs, so there is no counting from the edge. When a bookmark is finished, trim it and press the felt backing on to cover the back and keep it neat inside a book.
