Stitch Christmas Gnomes, a plastic canvas cross stitch kit by Luca-S — three chubby little gnomes with fluffy white beards and red-and-green knitted hats, one with a candy cane, to hang on the tree.

A little stitcher's folklore: Scandinavians say a Christmas gnome watches over the house and its animals all winter long.

Why this kit: a quick, cheerful set with 21 colours on a half sheet of plastic canvas.

Kit includes: a half A4 sheet (10.5×28 cm) of plastic canvas, Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 21 colours, 2 needles, a black-and-white symbol chart with coloured backstitch and instructions.

Stitch each ornament on the plastic canvas, then cut it out one hole beyond the stitching and add a loop of thread to hang it.

Each ornament: about 9×8 cm (3.5×3.1 in). Hang them on the tree or tie them to presents.

    Christmas Gnomes

    My Mom loved these! Instead of tree ornaments I glued magnets on the backs under the felt. She keeps them on her fridge year round. Grandson likes to play with them, too.

    I really enjoy the Luca kits. The thread is already organized on cards saving me a lot of time. Patterns are big and easy to read.
