Stitch Protector of a Foreign Home, a counted cross-stitch kit by Abris Art — a red fox curls up fast asleep inside a large woven bird's nest, keeping a clutch of speckled blue eggs safe and warm, with little leaves and feathers around the edge. Worked on 100% cotton Aida in 36 colours of floss.

A little stitcher's folklore: in many folk tales the fox is a clever guardian, and a nest is the old symbol of home and new life. Stitchers say this fox protects the home and everything precious inside it.

Why this kit: if you love sweet woodland animals, this sleepy fox is charming and cosy — lovely for a nursery or reading nook. An absorbing project for confident beginners and experienced stitchers, and a thoughtful gift for a baby shower or new home.

Kit includes: 100% cotton Aida canvas, a cross stitch needle, 36 colours of embroidery floss on an organizer, a printed symbol chart, and instructions in 8 languages.

Counted cross stitch is worked by following the symbol chart and placing each cross on the Aida grid with the matching floss colour. Stitch the fox first, then the eggs and woven nest.

Finished size: 30×30 cm (11.81×11.81 in). Cosy woodland wall art.
