Stitch Madame de Pompadour, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a lady in a shimmering green gown reclines with a book among rich drapery.

A little stitcher's folklore: Madame de Pompadour was a great patron of the arts, and François Boucher painted her several times.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 22 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 40×50 cm (15.7×19.7 in). A classic portrait for a living room.
