Stitch Bouquet of Poppies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — pink, red and white poppies form a loose bouquet against a warm brown background.

A little stitcher's folklore: the Shirley poppy, in soft pinks and whites, was bred by an English vicar in the 1880s from a single wild poppy.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 20 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 24×30 cm (9.4×11.8 in). A romantic floral piece for a bedroom.
