Stitch On the Meadow, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a green valley opens between the hills, with red poppies and white daisies in the foreground and birds overhead.

A little stitcher's folklore: Britain has lost around 97% of its wildflower meadows since the 1930s.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 14 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A fresh summer landscape for any room.
