Stitch Castle Orlik, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a white castle stands on a rocky hill above a river, its reflection shimmering in the water.

A little stitcher's folklore: Orlík Castle stands above the Vltava in Bohemia; when a dam was built in the 1960s, the river rose right up to its rock.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 32 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A classic landscape for a history lover.
