Stitch Bouquet of Poppies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — bright red poppies spill from a terracotta bowl on a soft cream background.

A little stitcher's folklore: poppy petals look like crumpled silk when they first open from the bud.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 21 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 24×30 cm (9.4×11.8 in). A bold floral piece for a kitchen.

    Beautiful canvas BUT very difficult to discern which color fiber to use in flowers. The color list of fibers doesn't come close to the actual canvas areas.
