Stitch Siamese Cat, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a Siamese cat with bright blue eyes and dark points looks out from a soft green background.

A little stitcher's folklore: Siamese kittens are born almost white; their darker points develop as they grow, as the colour depends on body temperature.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 12 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A lovely gift for a cat lover.
