Stitch Koi Carps, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — two koi, one white and gold and one red and white, swim among pebbles and lily pads.

A little stitcher's folklore: koi can live for decades, and one famous Japanese koi was said to be over 200 years old.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 24 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A calm, modern piece for any room.
