Stitch The Morning Ride, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a couple ride a grey and a chestnut horse along a riverbank in autumn, a small dog trotting behind.

A little stitcher's folklore: a horse's height is measured in hands, each hand being four inches.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 31 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 40×50 cm (15.7×19.7 in). A lively piece for a horse lover.
