Stitch Christmas Time, a needlepoint coaster kit by Orchidea — six square coasters with a wreath, a candle, a present, a bell and a bauble among the designs, each in a red border.

A little stitcher's folklore: the Advent wreath began in 19th-century Germany.

Why this kit: stiff plastic canvas and hard-wearing acrylic yarn make coasters that keep their shape on the table.

Kit includes: extra-stiff plastic canvas, acrylic yarn in 18 colours, a chart, instructions and a needle to make six coasters. Stitch used: half stitch.

Stitch each coaster in half stitch following the chart, then trim the plastic canvas neatly around the edge.

Each coaster measures about 11.5×11.5 cm (4.5×4.5 in). Festive coasters for the Christmas table.

    Not sure

Thought the designs would have at least been outlined on the canvas. The thought of counting stitches does not inspire me to work on them. Will figure out a way to pit the designs on the canvas, eventually, and then work on them.
