This Seg De Paris printed tapestry canvas brings together a full cast of wetland wildlife: a turquoise-and-orange kingfisher perched at the water's edge, a wading heron, two mallard-type ducks, a frog resting on a lily pad, a dragonfly skimming the surface, and a small otter peering through the reeds. Red iris blooms and a white water lily add color accents against the greens and blues of the marsh.

Since the marsh scene is already printed on the canvas as a guide, the stitcher works a diagonal half-cross stitch over each printed square in the color indicated, using the included DMC list to match Mouliné, Colbert Wool, Retors Cotton, or Pearl Cotton to that shade. Given the number of individual creatures in the design, working one animal at a time from background to foreground helps keep the composition organized.

The finished canvas measures 45 x 60 cm (17.72 x 23.62 in), a picture-sized format ideal for a framed nature study in a study, cabin, or nature lover's home.
