A cheerful navy-and-black bat with a white face, orange ears and belly, and wings veined in stitching, paired with a plump orange pumpkin dotted with beads and topped with an embroidered green leaf and curling stem.

Why this kit: two coordinating pieces that work as a Halloween duo on a branch, mantel, or door handle; decorative stitching on the wings and leaf adds detail beyond simple felt cut-outs; all the felt, floss, beads, and filling come in the kit along with sewing instructions.

Kit includes: felt, cotton floss, Preciosa beads, a Pony needle, hollowfiber filling, and instructions. Finished sizes: about 17x15 cm (6.69x5.91 in) and 9x15 cm (3.54x5.91 in). Made in Ukraine.

Following the instructions, the felt pieces are cut out, decorated with embroidery stitches and beads, then joined with neat edge stitching and stuffed with the hollowfiber filling to give the finished piece its soft, rounded shape.

A seasonal project that suits autumn and Halloween decorating, and a fun make to share with older children with a little adult help.
