A little stitcher's folklore: the eagle owl is the king of the night birds, and owls have long been a symbol of wisdom and protection. An owl watching over the house was said to keep it safe until morning. Stitchers say this one rules the night kindly.

Kit includes: 14-count blue Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 31 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and the crown, then build up the owl's feathers from dark to light. Finish with the gold branch and the pale swirls — the blue fabric forms the sky.

Finished size: 18.5×23 cm (7.28×9.06 in). A regal owl picture to frame and a memorable gift for owl lovers.
