Stitch Ladybug and Super-Cat, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a fluffy black kitten with big blue eyes stares intently at a little red ladybird walking along a green leaf. Worked in 29 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a ladybird is one of the oldest lucky signs, and a black cat is lucky too in Britain and Japan — so this pair is double luck. Stitchers say this super-cat is on guard duty.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 29 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the blue eyes, then build up the black fur with its soft grey highlights. Finish with the leaf and the red ladybird.

Finished size: 11.5×15.5 cm (4.53×6.1 in). A sweet, lucky picture to frame and a fun gift for cat lovers.
