Stitch Raspberry Candles of Willowherbs, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — tall pink spires of fireweed (rosebay willowherb) glow in a summer meadow in front of a dark green forest of fir trees. Worked in 43 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: fireweed is the first flower to bloom after a fire, so it has long been a symbol of renewal and hope. Its tea was said to bring strength and calm. Stitchers say these pink candles light the way to a fresh start.

Why this kit: if you love wildflowers and northern landscapes, this glowing meadow is rich and satisfying to stitch. A lovely gift for gardeners and nature lovers.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 43 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the pink flower spires, stitching the darker pinks first, then the green leaves and stems. Finish with the forest in the background.

Finished size: 17×24.5 cm (6.69×9.65 in). A glowing wildflower picture to frame and a beautiful handmade gift.
