Stitch Smoky Lilac Fog, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a quiet lake at dawn, with misty golden trees on the far shore, their reflections in the still water, and blue and violet lupins along the bank. Worked in 48 colours of DMC stranded cotton on grey Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: morning mist over the water was said to mean a fine, warm day ahead, and lupins were planted for luck and imagination. Stitchers say this lake brings calm to any room.

Why this kit: if you love peaceful landscapes, this misty lake is soft, atmospheric and deeply relaxing to stitch. A lovely gift for nature lovers and a calming bedroom picture.

Kit includes: 14-count grey Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 48 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the trees and their reflections, then the lupins in the foreground. The grey fabric forms the soft, misty sky.

Finished size: 29×20 cm (11.42×7.87 in). A peaceful landscape picture to frame and a thoughtful handmade gift.

    Beautiful design with easy to read directions. Excellent quality. I do wish they included the DMC color numbers in the kit in case I need to buy more yarn.
