Why this kit: a full-color picture board, so the background is already done and you only add the thread; pre-drilled holes for the nails and a fold-out stand for the finished piece; and a cheerful, kid-friendly design for older children working with an adult.

Kit includes: a pre-printed, pre-drilled picture board with a colored rim, a bag of nails, colored thread, a fold-out stand, a small hammer and step-by-step instructions. Not included: scissors for trimming the thread ends.

Tap the nails into the pre-drilled holes on the picture board with the small hammer, tie on the thread, outline each part of the design and fill it in with criss-cross passes, one color at a time. The nails are small and sharp, so younger crafters should work with an adult.

It is a natural fit for a bedroom, a sunroom or a desk, and makes a thoughtful gift for a mom, a grandma or a flower lover.
