Stitch Sunflower, a cross stitch card kit by Orchidea — a single large sunflower with a brown centre fills the window of a painted card.

A little stitcher's folklore: the seeds in a sunflower head grow in spirals that follow the Fibonacci sequence.

Why this kit: the design fits a ready-made card with an aperture, so your stitching becomes a handmade card that can be kept and framed later.

Kit includes: Zweigart aida, DMC 6-strand cotton floss in 11 colours, an embellished blank card, an envelope, a chart, instructions and a needle. Stitch used: cross stitch. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.

Stitch the design from the centre, then mount the finished piece in the card and add your message.

Finished size: 10.5×15 cm (4.1×5.9 in). A sunny handmade card for a birthday.
