A little stitcher's folklore: sunflowers turn to follow the sun, and an old saying goes that a vase of them on the table keeps the whole house facing the bright side.

Why this kit: a warm, sunny still life with a painterly finish — cheerful in a kitchen or dining room all year round.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 48 colours, a needle, a black-and-white symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the dark sunflower centres, then the golden petals, and finish with the leaves and terracotta pot using the black-and-white chart.

Finished size: 28×30 cm (11×11.8 in). A sunny still life for the kitchen or dining room and a cheerful gift.
