Stitch Mallard Duck, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a mallard drake with a glossy green head and yellow beak looks out from a warm golden background.

A little stitcher's folklore: the mallard is the wild ancestor of almost all farmyard ducks.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 22 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A classic piece for a country home.

    Beautifully, detailed painted canvas. Thought that "chart" meant a picture/graph of pattern and colors. Not included. Many subtle color changes are not all easy to determine from just the painted canvas. I am assuming that "chart" meant the "list" of colors, not a graph.
