Stitch Horse, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a bay horse with a black mane and a leather bridle looks out from a warm golden background.

A little stitcher's folklore: a horse's eyes are the largest of any land mammal.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A handsome gift for a horse lover.
