Stitch Chrysanthemum, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a lush purple chrysanthemum bloom opens on a green stem with bright leaves. Worked in 9 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Japan the chrysanthemum is a symbol of long life and happiness, and a single bloom was given to wish someone many good years. Stitchers say this one wishes you all of them.

Why this kit: if you're new to cross stitch or want a quick finish, this simple flower is ideal. A lovely small gift, and a set with RTO's Cornflower and Iris.

Kit includes: 14-count white Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 9 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the darkest purple petals, then the lighter ones. Finish with the green stem and leaves.

Finished size: 10×10 cm (3.94×3.94 in). A bright little flower picture to frame and a quick handmade gift.
