Stitch Christmas Toys, a plastic canvas cross stitch kit by Luca-S — a snowball bauble with poinsettia, a snowman in a top hat and holly, and a red pickup truck carrying a Christmas tree.

A little stitcher's folklore: farmers once said the first tree home on the truck decides how merry the whole Christmas will be.

Why this kit: an easy, festive set with 34 colours.

Kit includes: an A4 sheet (21×28 cm) of plastic canvas, Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 34 colours, 2 needles, a black-and-white symbol chart with coloured backstitch and instructions.

Stitch each ornament on the plastic canvas, then cut it out one hole beyond the stitching and add a loop of thread to hang it.

Largest ornament: about 19×15 cm (7.5×5.9 in). Hang them on the tree year after year.
