A little stitcher's folklore: water lilies take their Latin name, Nymphaea, from the water nymphs of Greek myth, and Victorian flower language read them as a sign of purity of heart.
Why this kit: designed by Rose Swalwell, this is a quick-growing wool project: long straight stitches cover the canvas fast, and the printed outline shows you exactly where each colour goes.
Kit includes: 14-count canvas printed with the design outline, 100% pure English tapestry wools, metallic thread, needles and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. A frame is not included.
Work each shape in long straight stitches laid side by side, following the printed lines and the stitch diagram, then add the metallic highlights and the couched details last.
Finished size: 20.5×21.5 cm (8.1×8.5 in). A calm little pond scene for a bathroom, bedroom or a gardener's wall.
