Stitch Blues and Sole, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a denim-blue boot is wrapped around a guitar, finished with silver details and a sharply pointed heel.

A little stitcher's folklore: the blues grew up in the Mississippi Delta in the late 1800s.

Why this kit: part of Sally King's Shoe Art Collection, it turns a fantasy shoe into a whole scene, with metallic silver thread for the guitar fittings.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, metallic silver thread, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: cross stitch and back stitch. A frame is not included.

Stitch the boot and guitar in cross stitch from the centre, then add the outlines in back stitch and the metallic details.

Finished size: 21×30 cm (8.3×11.8 in). A cool piece for a music lover.
