Bead-embroider "Pomegranate" with this Charivna Mit beadwork kit — a rounded pomegranate silhouette with a beaded crown-shaped calyx in cream and burgundy zigzag stitching, and clusters of deep red and rose pearls forming the seed-filled center.

Why this kit: the felt pieces create a soft dimensional finish; the templates and stitch guide make the project approachable; the finished ornament or hoop art is easy to display or give as a handmade gift.

Kit includes: instruction chart, color pattern, Preciosa beads in 3 colors, Crystal Art beads in 2 colors (3 sizes), felt, a fastener, and a needle. Made in Ukraine.

Bead embroidery is worked by following the color scheme and stitching each bead onto the felt base in the indicated position and shade, building up texture and shine bead by bead; the finished piece is then mounted onto stiff cardboard backing for structure (cardboard, embroidery thread, and glue are purchased separately). Once complete, attach the brooch pin to wear or gift.

Finished size: 5.5x6 cm (2.17x2.36 in). A quick beadwork project and a distinctive handmade accessory for anyone drawn to bold fruit-inspired jewelry.

    I enjoyed making this brooch a lot, the design is cure, and the instructions were pretty clear. There was enough of materials and I even had some beads left over. I only deducted one star because the big red beads on the pomegranate I received were different from the pictures - more of a glassy red, not pearl-like. Maybe this variation should be noted. Otherwise, I am happy with the result.
