Bead-embroider "Apricot" with this Charivna Mit beadwork kit — a rounded fruit silhouette topped with a two-lobed green leaf in bugle beads, and a body built from warm amber, burnt-orange, and deep burgundy beads.

Why this kit: the felt pieces create a soft dimensional finish; the templates and stitch guide make the project approachable; the finished ornament or hoop art is easy to display or give as a handmade gift.

Kit includes: instruction chart, color pattern, Preciosa beads in 12 colors (4 sizes), Crystal Art beads in 11 colors (10 sizes), felt, wire, a fastener, and a needle. Made in Ukraine.

Bead embroidery is worked by following the color scheme and stitching each bead onto the felt base in the indicated position and shade, building up texture and shine bead by bead; the finished piece is then mounted onto stiff cardboard backing for structure (cardboard, embroidery thread, and glue are purchased separately). Once complete, attach the brooch pin to wear or gift.

Finished size: 6x5.5 cm (2.36x2.17 in). A vibrant beadwork project and a handmade fruit-themed gift for a beadwork enthusiast.

    I really can't rate this item as I will not be making it for a while (soon to be moving). It\nlooks as though all of the beads, needles, wire, etc. are there, but the directions don't seem very clear and I've done needle work all my life.

    It's a lovely kit, it has everything you need, including delicate needles, perfectly labeled bags of beads. \n\nI'm not remembering if there was thread, I used my own colors. \n\nI want more!
