Felt Beginning of Life with this Charivna Mit needle felting kit — a flat wool picture of a sleeping infant swaddled in lilac, cradled in the curled green leaves and buds of a cabbage rose, with soft golden hair and rosy cheeks.

Why this kit: the felt pieces create a soft dimensional finish; the templates and stitch guide make the project approachable; the finished ornament or hoop art is easy to display or give as a handmade gift.

Kit includes: color pattern, instruction chart, Corriedale wool in 7 colors, felting and embroidery needles (2 pieces), and mouline Madeira thread in 1 color. Made in Ukraine.

This needle felted picture is built flat: small tufts of wool are layered onto the backing and repeatedly poked with a barbed felting needle, blending the fibers into soft, painterly color and shading, while the mouline thread adds fine outline detail such as leaf veins and the edge of the wrap. Work section by section — leaves first, then the sleeping figure — following the included color pattern.

Finished size: 4.33 x 4.33 in (11 x 11 cm). A gentle nursery-themed picture and a heartfelt handmade gift for a baby shower or new parents.
