Stitch Bouquet of Sunflowers, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — golden sunflowers fill a round blue vase, with a single bloom resting on the table beside it.

A little stitcher's folklore: sunflowers can grow more than 3 metres tall in a single summer.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 14 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A sunny piece for a kitchen or hallway.

    I don’t like this Penelope canvas. I don’t know how or when to change stitch size. Instructions might have helped. The big stitches aren’t that attractive but thats what I’m doing. Otherwise pretty design and colors.
