Stitch Water Lily, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a pink water lily opens among broad green leaves and tall grasses, with buds beside it.

A little stitcher's folklore: many water lilies open their flowers in the morning and close them again in the afternoon.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 13 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A calm floral piece for a bedroom.
