Stitch Gipsy Woman, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a young woman with long dark hair, gold earrings and a red shawl gazes out from a blue background.

A little stitcher's folklore: gold hoop earrings have been worn for thousands of years, since ancient Egypt.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 22 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 40×50 cm (15.7×19.7 in). A striking portrait for a living room.
