Stitch Butterflies on a Meadow, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — two orange and black butterflies flutter above a meadow of red poppies and wild flowers.

A little stitcher's folklore: the small tortoiseshell is one of the first butterflies seen in spring, waking from its winter sleep.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 20 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 24×30 cm (9.4×11.8 in). A bright summer piece for a garden lover.
