Stitch Bouquet of Sunflowers, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — golden sunflowers spill from a pink vase against a deep blue background, with one bloom on the table.

A little stitcher's folklore: the seeds in a sunflower head grow in spirals that follow the Fibonacci sequence.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 29 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A sunny piece for a kitchen or hallway.
