Stitch Still Life with a Blue Bowl, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a blue and white bowl holds apples and oranges beside a branch of ripe cherries and peaches on a warm cream background.

A little stitcher's folklore: Delft blue pottery was first made in the Netherlands in the 17th century to imitate Chinese porcelain.

Why this canvas: you choose the thread, so you can work it in tapestry wool for a traditional look or in cotton floss for a finer finish.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 24 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A classic still life for a kitchen or dining room.
