Stitch Landscape with Windmill, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a calm river winds past cypress trees and purple fields towards a distant windmill at sunset.

A little stitcher's folklore: the Netherlands still has around 1,000 historic windmills.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 22 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 24×30 cm (9.4×11.8 in). A peaceful landscape for a living room.
