Stitch Four Seasons Winter, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — a snowy cottage sits behind a wooden fence under a bare tree and a starry night sky.

A little stitcher's folklore: no two snowflakes are thought to be exactly alike, as each grows along its own path through the clouds.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 18 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 15×15 cm (5.9×5.9 in). A cosy winter scene for the festive season.
