Stitch A Bunch of Pansies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — orange, purple and white pansies form a bright posy on a sunny yellow background.

A little stitcher's folklore: the modern garden pansy was bred in England in the early 1800s from wild violas.

Why this canvas: it comes from Orchidea, the Polish needlework maker founded in 1985 and known for its classic tapestry designs.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 23 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A cheerful floral piece for any room.
