Stitch Red Poppies, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — two red poppies and a bud rise on slender stems against a dramatic black background.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Greek myth, poppies were linked with Hypnos, the god of sleep.

Why this canvas: the full-colour print shows exactly where each shade goes, so there is no chart to count and you can simply relax and stitch.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 9 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Match each printed colour to the thread list, then fill the canvas in half stitch, working the main shapes first and the background last.

Canvas size: 18×24 cm (7.1×9.4 in). A striking floral piece for a modern room.

The canvas itself is beautiful. Or would have been if not handled so badly. Shipping was very badly done. Canvas was not even wrapped in plastic or put in a baggie to protect it. Just stuck in the shipping envelope. Arrived frayed and bent due to rough handling by USPS.
