Stitch Bluetits on a Teasel, a printed needlepoint canvas by Orchidea — two blue tits cling to a tall teasel among golden grasses and wild flowers.

A little stitcher's folklore: Archibald Thorburn was a Scottish painter, much loved for his pictures of British birds.

Why this canvas: a reproduction of Archibald Thorburn's artwork printed in full colour on Zweigart canvas, so you can recreate the painting stitch by stitch in the threads of your choice.

Canvas includes: 100% cotton Zweigart 10-count canvas (40 holes per 10 cm) printed with the design in 23 colours, with the colour key printed on the canvas and a thread list for DMC, Anchor and Ariadna. Stitch used: half stitch. Threads, needle and frame are not included.

Work half stitch over the printed colours, matching each area to the colour key, starting with the darkest shades.

Canvas size: 30×40 cm (11.8×15.7 in). A lovely art piece for a birdwatcher.
